Verallia’s “Garrafita vai às Escolas” promotes recycling in schools
In March 2018, the project "Garrafita vai às Escolas" of Verallia Portugal took off and in the first year, reached 345 children between the preschool and the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. Trough an engaging language adapted to the ages, in a playful and fun way, this activity deals with glass, sustainability and recycling.
On April 30, 2019, Verallia Portugal went to Monte Redondo, Maria Rita Patrocínio Costa's Children's House of the Bissaya Barreto Foundation, where the "Garrafita" Mascot explained to 25 pre-school children the concepts of environmental protection, recycling and 'glass' material as the best option for packaging.
On May 08, 2019, the "Garrafita" carried out the activity with 40 children of the 1st Cycle (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year), at the EB1 of the Netos, in Ferreira-a-Nova, Figueira da Foz.
This activity, with a theoretical-practical component, starts with a playful lecture where children discover key concepts such as environmental education, the 3R's, safety at work, as well as the key glass industry processes that allow them to get to know Verallia and adapt these teachings to the day to day.
Since the beginning of 2019, the activity “Garrafitas vai às Escolas”, reached 129 children. Verallia is available to take this project to other children.
For that, the schools that are interested can get in touch with Verallia Portugal.
