Verallia Portugal sponsors “III Tejo’s Wine Ceremony”

At 12 of May 2012, under of “III Gala dos Vinhos do Tejo” (III Tejo’s Wine Ceremony), Tejo’s Regional Winery Commission (CVR Tejo) had distinguished producers, wines, oenologist and restaurant of the region that  had the better remark in 2011, in a delightful scenario, at Convento de S. Fransisco, in Santarém.

CVR Tejo announced that Tejo’s wine exports to European country aimed an increase of 49.3% in the first trimester of 2012 over the same period last year. Indeed, between January and Mach of this year, European markets received 807.500 litters of region wine, that is to say, more that 266.700 litters that in same period last year, 2011. Out side European markets, principally, Angola, China, US and Brazil, also had contributed to increase of 27% comparatively to last year. 

At event, was known the winners of “CVR Tejo Awards”, that distinct Adega Cooperativa Almeirim with “Tejo’s Wines Dynamism”, Centro Agrícola Tramagal (Casa Coelheira) received the prize of “Tejo’s Wines Excellence”, and the “Tejo’s Wines Oenologist of the Year” goes to Martta Reis Simões, oenologist of Quinta Alorna, to which CVR Tejo recognizes the proved wines quality that they produce, since entrances to top scale. At “III Gala dos Vinhos do Tejo”, where were been in contest 120 wines and 36 regional producers, was announced the results of “III Tejo’s Bottled Wines Contest”, that aimed to find the best nectars of 2011 produced in Tejo region. Besides 17 silver and 14 gold trophies, CVR Tejo gave a especial emphasis to two wines. This pomp revealed too prize-winning restaurants in the range of “III Tejo’s Dish and Wines Contest”.  CVR Tejo distinguished 5 restaurants that received specials awards profit of their performance in specific criteria considered by judge.

Beyond sponsoring the event, Verallia Portugal Team were present and Sales Director, Álvaro Ferreira, gone to stage to deliver the “Tejo’s Wines Excellence” award, in which was impressed Verallia logo. Clients and region closeness mirror in this partnerships that increase Verallia emplacement and strength.
