Valados de Melgaço distinguished with SIlver Medal at the International Wine Challenge

The wines Valados de Melgaço Alvarinho Reserva 2016 and Quinta de Golães Colheita Seleccionada Branco 2016 had obtained 90 e 92 points, respectively, in one of the most renowned wine contests of the world.

According to the producer, this is the eighth time that the brand is distinguished on international contests and wine tastings of 2017.
“This is the first contest on which we participate with our 2016 harvest, which pleases us and makes us sure that we are on the good track. Those distinctions are proof of the recognition that “Vinhos Verdes” are having internationally, and consolidate the quality of this family project, particularly Alvarinho de Monção e Melgaço”, claims one of the owners, Artur Meleiro.
Valados de Melgaço is a family project from the “Região Demarcada dos Vinhos Verdes”. At a press release, the producer refers his determination to “introduce Alvarinho variety at its best. Ambitious, rigorous and aware of the potential of the variety, the brand aims to be an example on the wine sector”.
With a retail price of 10,90, Valados de Melgaço Reserva 2016, 100% Alvarinho, presents itself as balanced, flavored, fresh and elegant wine, with high acidity, volume and structure. From Alvarinho variety (more than 85%), Loureiro and Trajadura, the Quinta de Golães Colheita Seleccionada 2016 shows itself as wine with balanced acidity, with a vegetable side which accentuates on the palate, through a clear structure and a fresh aftertaste. Its retail price rounds about 9,30€.
