Sparkling Pingo Doce Baga Bairrada internationally awarded
Pingo Doce Baga Bairrada Sparkling 2015, made by Caves da Montanha, received a silver medal at the International Wine Challenge. This sparkling Blanc de Noirs is produced with red grapes from the Baga variety, predominant in the Bairrada region, and was created by winemakers Bruno Seabra and António Selas.
Caves da Montanha Director-General Alberto Henriques considers these two awards “as a demonstration of the right bet on the Baga variety, so we believe that by giving Baga more prominence, and by democratizing the product and making it more accessible, we will not only drive the customer to prefer this berry, but berries from other brands ", also refers “the consecration of the qualitative consistency of what is produced, even when it is for partners. The product's success is due to our more than 20 years partnership with Pingo Doce, the stability and the work done together. Pingo Doce has bet in the region of Bairrada, in the Caves da Montanha and is not afraid to be a pioneer and to take risks, so we are all very grateful”.
The Jury, made up of a panel of international experts, performed at least three blind tests to award the medals, and in the case of Pingo Doce Baga Bairrada, appreciated its tasting notes of red berries, as well as the sweet biscuit sensations of this Sparkling that is creamy in the mouth, presents good mousse, being firm and elegant. With its headquarters in the Bairrada Demarcated Region, in one of the most traditional wine areas in Portugal, Caves da Montanha is a Portuguese beverage company founded in 1943 and which, over these 75 years, has always been guided by the same vision: the quality of its products and the focus on its customers, as evidenced by the numerous awards won over the years.
