“Garrafita goes to School” visits the Centro de Estimulação Precoce da Fontela and Conservatório De Música David De Sousa
On July 29th and last August 9th, Verallia Portugal and the “Garrafita” mascot went to visit the "neighbors next door", at the Centro de Estimulação Precoce da Fontela and the Conservatório De Música David De Sousa – Figueira da Foz, respectively, with the aim of promoting their good practices.
During this activity concepts of sustainability, environmental protection, recycling and “glass” material was approached and explained as the best option for packaging and for reuse. The presentation took place for 35 children at Centro de Estimulação Precoce da Fontela and for 15 at the Conservatório De Música David De Sousa, between 3 and 5 years old, that have also learned key concepts such as environmental education, the 3R's, occupational safety and key glass industry processes that enable them to get to know Verallia better and to put these teachings into practice.
At the David De Sousa Conservatory of Music, children also learned that making music with glass packaging is possible.
During the last part of the activity, “Garrafita” challenged the children to play a game with a giant board focused on sustainability, recycling and environment. In the end, each child received a certificate of participation and a book that summarizes the activities and concepts developed during them.
Verallia is available to take this project of “Garrafita goes to schools” to other children. For that, the schools that are interested can get in touch with Verallia Portugal.
